CIHP/ CCIHP is an active partner of the Center for Health Market Innovations (CHMI). In July 2010, CHMI http://www.healthmarketinnovations.org/ was launched. Today, with more than 75,000 visitors from 190 countries, CHMI is the world’s largest freely accessible web platform on programs improving the access, quality, and affordability of privately delivered health care for the poor.

Factsheet on Health Market Innovations (HMIs) in Vietnam

Together with 16 in-country partners in the world, CCIHP’s researchers and collaborators reviewed information from 550 health programs in Vietnam from 1990 till recent through secondary data, face-to-face interviews and telephone interviews with program officers, sponsors and/or researchers. Among these, 219 programs were primarily screened and selected basing on the HMI criteria. Finally, 60 programs/projects were chosen as the representatives of health market innovations and shared on the CHMI website (http://healthmarketinnovations.org/)

Disabled demand better sex life

Discrimination hinders millions of disabled people in Viet Nam from exercising their basic right for a healthy sex life. Doctor Hoang Tu Anh, director of the Centre for Creative Initiatives in Health and Population, said that long-lasting prejudices about love, marriage, sexuality and child-bearing made the disabled keep their feelings to themselves or refuse their partners' love because they thought their love could not lead to marriage - and that a marriage could not work if there was no child.

Action reseach: Sexual violence to MSM

With the financial support from UNAIDS, the CCIHP conducts an action research for prevention of violence among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Vietnam. This project, “MSM stories”, aims to record cases of violence against MSM as well as to empower them through series of trainings.

“ People living with stories” : A Film for World AIDS Day 2010

For World AIDS Day 2010, and as part of Vietnam’s Month of Action, the Centre for Creative Initiatives in Health and population (CCIHP) in collaboration with Ensemble films produced the film “People living with stories”. The idea of this film was to tackle stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV, by showing that they are people who share the same experiences as everyone else in their community.
