Abstract:
Male sexual concerns have rarely been addressed in sexual and reproductive health research in Vietnam. This paper argues that men also have sexual health problems and those problems need to be cared for. This is an effort to explore perceptions of Vietnamese rural men on male sexual problems and how these concerns are shaped by the social, political, economic and cultural context surrounding them. It can be concluded that male sexual concerns are products of contrasting understanding and conflicts within each man about life, men’s role and the mechanism of his body in a changing social and economic context of Muong Khen, a Vietnamese rural town.
