On October 1st, 2007, a workshop was organized to find out about activities and the cooperation needs between The Consultation of Investment in Health Promotion (CIHP) and (VSO). The staff of CIHP and volunteers of The Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) participated in this workshop.
VSO is an international organization which connects volunteers with extensive experience to other organizations to enhance the capacity of staff-groups in organizations. Through previous discussion-workshops, CIHP has become a potential partner of VSO in using VSO’s experts to enhance the capacities of CIHP’s staff, particularly for CIHP’s younger staff.
In one day, VSO and CIHP not only shared a lot of useful information related in their targets and activities but also found out problems which need to be supported in training human resources. VSO has important points and advice in regards to the real training-demands of CIHP staff in the near future, by using tools of a participatory assessed method, for example drawing, role playing, …It was a good chance for CIHP staffs (specially CIHP’s young staffs) to find out about the strategies, the potentialities and the difficulties of their organization.
The result of the workshop was that CIHP’s young staff were interested in the knowledge and skills learnt making plan, supervising and assessing a project (with 342 points), following research methods with 326 points, management and development human resources with 320 poinnts, training (316 points), advanced and administrated counseling (307 points) and communications (185 points) To base on the result of the workshop, people hope that in the near future CIHP and VSO can make a specific, detail and feasible plan together for the long-term cooperation programs to aim at enhancing capacities and working-experiences for CIHP’s staff. |
