10:44' PM - Monday, 31/01/2011

Last year pupils at the Ninh Thuan secondary school in Son La were treated to an extra class; “Teen’s reproductive health and safe sex”. This lesson was just one of the activites of the “Education and communication about reproductive health for ethnic minority pupils” which is part of the “Tiep suc” program run by the Consultation of Investment in Health Promotion (CIHP).

This programme aims to raise awareness about safe sex and reproductive health for ethnic minority pupils and improve their skills in communication and negotiation. This will help them have a better and safer relationships and help protect them against HIV and other STIs. Around 150 pupils and their teachers and parents, participated in the event which included games, quizzes and musical contests. Certainly the extra-lessons about sex and relationships was enormously popular and more classes were eagerly requested
