From 26-29 October 2010, CIHP participated in the Partners Meeting of The Center for Health Market Innovations (CHMI) in Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, India. Results for Development Institute (R4D) in collaboration with Access International held this event.
Through a global network of partners, CHMI collects information on innovative programs in more than 100 countries. The online CHMI programs database offers interactive, comparable, visual information about a constantly growing number of programs – now more than 600. CHMI uses its rich information on programs around the world to identify and analyze emerging innovative models that could be scaled-up or adapted in other countries. CHMI works to better understand which emerging program models truly have the potential to improve health and financial protection in health markets.
This activity created opportunity for the partners around the world: (i) Get to know each other and form this network/community; (ii) Ensure a common understanding of CHMI’s broad goals, frameworks, and work processes; (iii) Brainstorm jointly about key CHMI next steps. There were 31 participants from developing countries such as Braril, India, South Africa, Bolivia, Kenya, Indonesia, Philippines, Ghana etc. actively discussed How to engage implementers, funders and researchers into CHMI activities.
Particularly, strategies to use collected information to develop intervention programs to improve health market in developing countries were also attracted participants’ attention. The meeting obtained a great number of precious ideals and delegates committed to active contribute the links in health markets of stakeholders.
